Intention to use mobile customer relationship management systems
© Emerald Group Publishing Limited. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to investigate the behavioral intentions of business-to-business (B2B) sales managers to use mobile customer relationship management (CRM) systems in the course of their day-to-day activities. Design/methodology/approach - An extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of mobile CRM system adoption is developed and tested with data from 105 international sales managers representing five B2B companies. Findings - The study extends the TAM framework with three additional constructs derived from mobile technology and sales force automation literature, namely personal innovativeness in the domain of IT, perceived risk, and perceived reachability. The model demonstrates that personal innovativeness and perceived reachability have significant effects on the TAM framework. Research limitations/implications - The relatively small sample size limits the generalization of the results. Practical implications - Sales managers' intention to adopt mobile CRM can be explained by the extended TAM framework. Understanding the key factors that influence intention to adopt a mobile CRM system will aid companies in implementing it among their sales force. Companies willing to foster adoption of a mobile CRM system among the sales force could focus on communicating the usefulness of using the system and benefits gained from enhanced reachability. Recruiting sales people with strong personal innovativeness is beneficial. Originality/value - This study responds the calls for studies on mobile platforms and on the use of mobile B2B applications in sales force management. It is among the first attempts to incorporate variables derived from mobile technology acceptance literature among the sales force into the TAM framework, to better explain acceptance of mobile CRM systems
Verkkosivujen suunnittelu ja toteutus markkinoinnin näkökulmasta : Case: Virhydro Oy
Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella Virhydro Oy:lle uudet verkkosivut palvelemaan yrityksen markkinointia. Virhydro Oy on Virroilla toimiva teknisen kaupan alan yritys. Opinnäytetyön tekijä on työskennellyt yrityksessä ja oman kiinnostuneisuutensa kautta ehdotti yritykselle opinnäytetyön aihetta. Opinnäytetyön empiirisen osuuden tavoitteena oli luoda verkkosivut, joiden avulla yritys hankkii uusia asiakkuuksia, vahvistaa yrityskuvaa ja tarjoaa lisäarvoa olemassa oleville asiakkaille.
Opinnäytetyössä paneudutaan markkinoinnin teoreettiseen viitekehykseen sekä visuaalisen ilmaisun, vuorovaikutteisuuden, käytettävyyden, typografian, sisällöntuottamisen ja hakukoneoptimoinnin keinoihin, joiden avulla yhdessä strategisen lähestymistavan avulla kehitettiin Virhydro Oy:n verkkosivut.
Verkkosivujen markkinointia on suoritettu muissa markkinointiviestintäkanavissa. Yritys on saanut lukuisia asiakasyhteydenottoja uusien verkkosivujen avulla. Yhteydenottoja on myös tullut potentiaalisilta asiakkailta, joita ei muilla markkinointikeinoilla ole pystytty tavoittamaan. Noin 10% saaduista kontakteista on johtanut myynteihin.
Verkkosivujen toimintaa mitataan säännöllisesti Google Analytics -analytiikkaohjelmiston avulla. Analytiikkaohjelmistosta saatujen käyttäjien käyttäytymismallien perusteella yrityksen verkkosivuja arvioidaan ja kehitetään jatkuvasti. The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis was to design and implement a web site for Virhydro Oy. The company operates in the trade of technical equipment. The goal was to create a web site that would serve the company’s marketing purposes, such as to acquire new customers, to maintain the company image and to offer added value to the existing customers.
The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the aspects of creating a web site for marketing purposes. Marketing theory together with aesthetics, typography, usability, content creation and search engine optimization were used along with the strategic approach to create a web site for Virhydro Oy.
The functionality of the web site has generated numerous customer contacts among potential customers that could not be reached through other marketing efforts by the company. Approximately 10% of the generated contacts have resulted in sales.
The company’s web site is being constantly developed by acquiring information through the analytics platform Google Analytics. User behaviour factors such as the time spent on the web site, the navigation paths and the internal search terms are being monitored and used to improve the content of the web sites
Salespeople's intention to adopt mobile solutions
mobiiliteknologiaa. Tämä tutkimus osallistuu tähän keskusteluun tutkimalla,
mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat myyntipäälliköiden aikomuksiin käyttää mobiilia
asiakkuuksienhallintajärjestelmää.
Tämän tutkimiseksi, käsitteellinen malli rakennettiin teknologian hyväksymiseen
ja omaksumiseen liittyvän kirjallisuuden pohjalta. Erityistä näkemystä
haettiin mobiiliteknologian omaksumista ja myyntiä tukevia teknologioita
käsittelevästä kirjallisuudesta.
Tutkimus hyödynsi kokeellista ja määrällistä tutkimusotetta testatakseen
luotua mallia. Online-kysely lähetettiin viidelle suomalaiselle teollisuusyritykselle.
Kaikkiaan kysely keräsi 105 vastausta maailmanlaajuisesti. Mallia testattiin
käyttäen rakenneyhtälömallinnusta (structural equation modelling, SEM) ja
tarkemmin ottaen osittainen pienimmän neliösumman regressioanalyysi (partial
least squares, PLS) valittiin arvioimaan rakenneyhtälön muuttujia.
Löydöksemme osoittivat, että käyttöaikomusta pystytään merkittävästi selittämään
havaitun käyttäytymiseen liittyvän kontrollin, havaitun hyödyllisyyden
ja havaitun tavoiteltavuuden avulla. Sosiaaliset vaikuttimet selittivät molempia
määrääviä teknologiaan liitettäviä uskomuksia (eli havaittua helppokäyttöisyyttä
ja hyödyllisyyttä), kun taas henkilökohtainen innovatiivisuus selitti
ainoastaan havaittua helppokäyttöisyyttä. Asenteella ei ollut vastoin hypoteesiamme
merkittävää vaikutusta käyttöaikomukseen.Mobile technology and services have gained attention in organisations and academia
alike in terms of what are their impact on organisational performance.
There is however little information on what drives salespeople to adopt mobile
technology. Our study contributes this discourse by investigating what are the
antecedents of behavioural intention when regarding the use of mobile customer
relationship management in the course of sales managers’ work.
To examine this, a conceptual model was developed based on literature on
technology adoption and acceptance research. Specific insight was sought from
literature focusing on mobile technology adoption and sales automation technology.
This study utilised exploratory quantitative approach in order to empirically
test the model. An online survey was sent to 5 Finnish firms operating in
industrial sector. In total, the survey gathered 105 responses globally. The model
was tested via structural equation modelling (SEM), and more specifically
partial least squares (PLS) was chosen to estimate the parameters of SEM.
Our findings indicated that behavioural intention was sufficiently explained
by perceived behavioural control, perceived usefulness and perceived
reachability. Social influences explained both key technology related beliefs (i.e.,
perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness), whereas personal innovativeness
only explained perceived ease of use. Contrary to our hypothesis, attitude
did not exert sufficient effect on behavioural intention
